Looking for “the right designer” at Domus Academy

On Tuesday we met with the group of international students at Domus Academy who joined the “The Right Designer” initiative. We delivered them our brief: their challenge will be coming up with an original – yet workable – solution for an innovative use of tablets and similar digital devices.
E-readers and tablet computer may indeed seem simple and plain things but they’re truly a complex means for fluid, contemporary connections. Moreover they’ve become more and more common and important in the daily life for all of us.
Students at Domus Academy, coming from various countries around the world, showed great interest in the Tucano products existing so far, exploring all their functions and potentialities. Who know if they will succeed at surprising us with new, unforeseen ones.

Stay tuned, the next step wil be next week when we’ll meet other international students at Naba, the New Art Academy of Milan. In the meantime enjoy the gallery from the meeting at Domus Academy

We’re looking for the right (young) designer this summer.

We’re always looking for real talent, especially when you find it in young ideas. In the next months we’re seeking it in the major design schools in Milan and the Lake Como area. Tucano is participating at “The Right Designer for Every Company”,  a special project by Material Connexion funded by the Milan Chamber of Commerce. We will involve local and international students allowing them to get their hands on a real product concept development.

During the summer we will follow how their ideas sparkle and select what we think is the best one. It will then turn into a real Tucano product and start the production, of course after being exhibited at Triennale museum in Milan.
Next Tuesday we will brief students at the Domus Academy premises: among them there’s already who will design the next innovative Tucano product. Stay tuned.

Tucano @ Macworld Asia 2011

Tucano is in Beijing to attend the first Asian Macworld Expo. The Macworld Asia 2011 will takes place from September 22 to 25 at the China National Convention Center. In its booth Tucano will show all his collections dedicated to the Apple device: MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, iPad, iPhone.

With 25 editions to its name, Macworld is the Apple event per excellence dedicated both to Apple and Apple-related products and services, the easiest way to get in touch with the most successful companies working in partnership with Apple, attend workshops and meet the most relevant personalities in the fields. Among the new products and collections that will be introduced to the local markets are the Work_Out New Color, the Work_Out Expanded, the wide offering of folders, covers and backcovers for iPad 2 and the accessories, and the headsets from the new audio [e]motion collection.

Tucano al Festival dell'Energia

Tucano participates as sponsor to the fourth edition of ''L'Energia Spiegata'' (the explained energy) – an international event that will take place in Florence from the 23rd to the 25th of September.

The program includes about 50 appointments – political and institutional debates, conferences, meetings with experts and research and market leaders, exhibits, shows, workshops, book presentations – and the participation of guests from all over the world to discuss Smart Energy with an unbiased approach.

As a guest, just to name one with international importance, Vaclav Smil who is in the Foreign Policy list of the 100 most influent thinker in the world. At the Festival they will discuss about biocombustibles, smart networks, electric cars, passive house, energy rights, energetic security, smart city, nuclear and renewable energies.

The 2011 edition of "L'Energia spiegata – Festival dell'Energia" will be held in the historical center of Florence from Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th of September.

Tucano Official Supplier of the 68th Venice Film Festival

Tucano is participating as Official Supplier of the 68th Venice Film Festival, which will take place in Lido di Venezia from August 31st to September 10th.

Tucano, whose collaboration with the Venice Film Festival dates back to 2002, realised this year’s official lanyards wich will be handed out to all accredited guests. Moreover, all film industry professionals registered to the Industry Office will be given a notebook bag from the Studio ollection, personalised for the occasion with the logos of the Venice Film Festival and of Rai Cinema by ByTucano Corporate, the division exclusively focused on the design of original concepts for the corporate clients.
