TUCANO
Tucano will participate as technical sponsor to the 2012 edition of the Bike Pride, the festive parade of bikes supporting sustainable mobility and cycling, on Sunday June 3rd in Turin, Italy. Bike is the most efficient way to get around the city: fast, cheap and environmentally friendly, biking is an effective way to improve road safety and reduce traffic congestion. Tucano, always close to those living on the move, shares the reasons behind the 2012 Bike Pride and gladly accepted to help those who make smart mobility a daily priority.
The meeting is at 11 am in the Parco del Valentino where there will be set pic-nic areas, games and concerts while waiting for the departure, scheduled at 3.30 pm. 50 bikes will be available at no charge for the ones who (still) don't have their own bike. The arrival is scheduled at 5.30 pm in Piazza Castello, right in the heart of Turin. The day ends with a cocktail party and a dj sets at Parco del Valentino again, starting from 7pm.
All without producing not a single bit of CO2!
On Tuesday we met with the group of international students at Domus Academy who joined the “The Right Designer” initiative. We delivered them our brief: their challenge will be coming up with an original – yet workable – solution for an innovative use of tablets and similar digital devices.
E-readers and tablet computer may indeed seem simple and plain things but they’re truly a complex means for fluid, contemporary connections. Moreover they’ve become more and more common and important in the daily life for all of us.
Students at Domus Academy, coming from various countries around the world, showed great interest in the Tucano products existing so far, exploring all their functions and potentialities. Who know if they will succeed at surprising us with new, unforeseen ones.
Stay tuned, the next step wil be next week when we’ll meet other international students at Naba, the New Art Academy of Milan. In the meantime enjoy the gallery from the meeting at Domus Academy
We’re always looking for real talent, especially when you find it in young ideas. In the next months we’re seeking it in the major design schools in Milan and the Lake Como area. Tucano is participating at “The Right Designer for Every Company”, a special project by Material Connexion funded by the Milan Chamber of Commerce. We will involve local and international students allowing them to get their hands on a real product concept development.
During the summer we will follow how their ideas sparkle and select what we think is the best one. It will then turn into a real Tucano product and start the production, of course after being exhibited at Triennale museum in Milan.
Next Tuesday we will brief students at the Domus Academy premises: among them there’s already who will design the next innovative Tucano product. Stay tuned.
The new case Piatto for Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus was specifically designed to enhance the main features of the Samsung tablet such as lightness, compactness and ease of use. Just put the Galaxy in the case, keep it firm thanks to the security flap and you're done: the compactness remains unchanged thanks to MagLocker, the magnetic feature that locks the front cover to the back of the case, while the two-position standup, one for writing, the other for reading, further enhancing the main functions this tablet was designed for.
The faux-leather on the outside, available in black, blue or pink, and soft scratch-resistant dark-gray microfiber on the inside ensure an additional layer of protection while giving that original touch that never hurts.
Sometimes to get the best in terms of both lightness and protection one ingredient is simply not enough: you have first to find two of them and second to put them side by side the right way. Bordo is the back cover Tucano for the 3rd generation iPad (fully compatible with the iPad 2) providing an excellent balance between protection and lightness thanks to the combination of two technical materials, each with its both aesthetic and functional peculiarities.
Starting from the outer edge of the back cover made of thermoplastic polyurethane, the anti-slip anti-shock technical material that ensures a comfortable and safe grip in all conditions. To offer the ultimate lightness and let the bitten apple logo all the space it deserves - mac-addicts will surely appreciate that - the back of Bordo is made of crystal polycarbonate, a durable plastic material with the beutiful plus of the transparency. And finally to protect the beautiful high-resolution screen of the new iPad, Bordo features an adhesive and removable film to protect the screen from scratches.
From April 12th to 15th Tucano's Chinese team took part at Global Sources Hong Kong, one of the most relevant event for producers and distributors in the consumer electronics industry. Global Sources Hong Kong is an international event promoting Asian producers in the world, with dates also in Mumbai, Johannesburg, Sao Paulo, Brazil and Miami.
With its participation, Tucano aims at a greater visibility for the brand by getting in touch with potential distributors and partners attending the event. Our space was visited by hundreds of people, many of which have shown real interest about Tucano's line of products that will surely lead to a wider presence for Tucano in new Asian markets.
Global Sources continues in Shanghai and in Shenzhen in September, before returning back to Hong Kong in October: Tucano will attend all editions. And let's not forget the MacWorld Asia in August in Beijing, a real must for all Apple fans!
